The way in which Dandadan’s slice of life stuff outweighs hype moments

i just torrented the digital volumes lol. i'm sure the physicals are nice though. i'm hoping the movies and s5 do it justice cause i watched a bit of the end of s2 to see a few scenes and i wasn't that impressed with how it was adapted tbh

the dialog in rascal does not dream of santa claus is a parody of itself. these episodes feel like they're trying to hit the word count requirement in an essay. s1 was an anomaly apparently

Im so behind on anime

I just have not felt like watching things, then I start feeling worse as I fall behind more episodes

one piece is the only anime worth watching nowadays tbh

I want to love City but the way its turning out more and more like extended cut of Helvetica Standard and not mainline Nichijou is hugely unfortunate and a missed opportunity. Show is wasted on all these background ass characters together with their lame ass skits that I'll be honest is an utter waste of manpower, talent and precious resources knowing this is coming from KyoAni studio

Like dawg just focus on the trio and we could have gotten a potential classic here. Really makes me mad cause the trio is some of the most interesting character and dynamics but yeah nah lets showcase a bunch of literal who's instead

I just recently came out of a three months break

i like checking in on all the different characters and what they're up to but yeah, the skits can be pretty hit or miss. like the play in ep 8 was a complete flop to me. same for the mr. bummer stuff. otherwise i've really enjoyed the show every week and have found it to be pretty funny and obviously visually impressive. i haven't seen nichijou though so i can't compare the two

Nichijou also has a large and diverse cast. Still the writing feels locked in and many characters including the side chars gets actual development throughout the series

While City is totally about a series of skits but like you said since they are hit/miss it's just not as rewarding

I would rate City a light 7, Nichijou a light 9. I still plan to finish the series just hoping to see more Wako lol she's my fav from the 2 shows
