recap or anime original stuff?
a sequel to season 2. manga readers say there isn't a lot of content though, so they probably won't be full length
I really like Dandadan other than the high school relationship s***
Handles romance better than a large majority of anime that comes to mind.
Yoshinari has not shown up on P&S yet, what is he cooking?
Just watched Cinderella Gray on a whim, and I gotta say.. it's PEAK
Apparently there's a sscond cour coming in October too
tsukishima in golden kamuy is one of the funniest characters i've ever seen. the f***ing scowl on his face kills me every single time without failure
@orangejuice2
i was on a business trip for like a month the only anime i've watched are dandadan and my hero academia illegals
glad peak is back on the menu i stopped reading the manga tho
I struggle to understand why Vinland Saga is so highly rated. Is it just one of those shows where you get to say "you just don't get it" and feel good about looking down on people who rightfully disagree with the plot and overall message within the context of the show?
Bunch of bollocks that second season is

If someone has a problem with where S2 takes the story, then yeah it usually means they’ve misunderstood what Vinland Saga has been about from the beginning. Even in S1, underneath all the action, the author was already laying the groundwork for a story that’s fundamentally about breaking the cycle of violence and searching for a better way to live.

I think most of the dissatisfaction with S2 comes from what became of Thorfinn's character. And I think it's mostly justified IMO. Leaning that far into pacifism is a divisive choice especially given the times the show is set in.
I haven't read the manga but as far as ideals go Canute is much more captivating and interesting to follow through the 2 seasons.

Tbh Thorfinn in S1 was actually my least favorite part of the show, bc he felt one-dimensional.
That’s kind of the genius of it - the author set the story in the Viking era because Thorfinn’s eventual ideals would clash so hard with the warlike culture of the time. That contrast makes the message land so much stronger imo.
Post S1 Thorfinn is a completely different kind of interesting. He’s not perfect - still naive, and constantly having his beliefs tested - but he refuses to go back to the cycle of violence. That's what makes his growth so compelling.
Honestly, if you give S2 an honest chance, it’s hard not to be impressed by how Thorfinn slowly changes the people around him.
"I want to be like you - strong, and kind. A real man."
The Fast&Furious parody in the last New Panty & Stocking episode was crazy
The homage in episode 4 to Jack Kirbys Fantastic Four and New Gods (even had the Kirby krackles) / Hanna Barbera Fantastic Four and Space Ghost...
Might be best episode of the year

just wanna add to what @HeartsAglow said and mention that thorfinn's formative years as an adolescent were entirely spent participating in wars with the singular tunnel visioned goal of avenging his father's death
it wasn't until askeladd's death that the immorality of his actions finally caught up with him. with that context, it's understandable why his entire demeanor does a 180 in season 2. he's quite literally a social newborn with no knowledge of how society and relationships work. i personally found it really interesting to watch him mature and fully grasp the meaning of his father's ideals.
