every situation where someone famous is outed for being a s***pest is very rarely down to misinterpretation of intent - there are some morally grey areas when it comes to consent, but when it comes to SA with celebrities, this thing with Andrew, or even s*** like Aziz, nothing about those situations would’ve changed if they were just regular dudes off the street except for the fact that they wouldn’t have garnered so much attention - it always comes down to people getting outed for weird behavior that has nothing to do with their fame. to the contrary, if you’re famous, you can f*** whoever you want and u don’t have to have skeletons in the closet at all. if you’re just decent and very careful about consent, i don’t think it’d matter. plenty of celebs out here be f***ing w/ no allegations and it comes down to the fact that they simply aren’t rapists

edit: not to say that the dynamic isn’t different, bc it definitely is, and should be acknowledged - but this isn’t the workplace and i think as long as everyone is aware of the situation at hand and dynamics at play, that it shouldn’t be an issue if, again, you’re just not a rapist or a s***pest lmao

nah you're misreading what i'm saying. i'm not saying that its the victims fault for misinterpreting the intent of the person or a simple lack of mutual understanding. i'm saying that people in places of power have their personal shortcomings - some of which are more severe than others ofc - more highly exaggerated than the same shortcomings from the average person situationally otherwise. for example, i think A LOT of men cant read consent from women correctly or have general issues with self-regulating themselves in sexual situations. however someone famous has significantly more situations where, because of the dynamic of themselves with a partner, these issues are far more likely to come to fruition the more they subject themselves to external social stimuli. the avg person is simply not going to ever be in a scenario, on avg, where they have to worry about self-regulating their libido because they can't distinguish "fans" from "sexual opportunities".

I think I see what you’re saying and I don’t disagree that being famous puts you in more sexual situations with dynamics like that - i guess the point i was making is that regardless of fame, isn’t the biggest issue the large amount of men you mentioned in your post that can’t read consent, whether they’re famous or not? it’s why ethan’s post is silly to me bc i feel like the answer is that everyone needs a better understanding of consent as opposed to “famous people can’t hook up anymore!!!” - it feels like addressing the problem of SA by saying the answer is for everyone to just stop having s***lol

If you’re famous and rich, you must have to disclose 100% that the s***is consensual and the woman has to do so as well.

The instance she shows any kind of hesitation, f*** off. That simple. If you have to pressure them, it’s not good.

It's not. A simple accusation by some psycho looking for a paycheck settlement could ruin your entire life, knocking up a girl could get you to pay millions for child support who see you as a meal ticket.

Not saying that this guy was even considered famous by any stretch of the imagination two years ago beyond some vague YouTube fame. Obviously he admitted to it to. I'm speaking generally before the resident white knights of KTT start foaming out their mouths
