similarly though, the real reason people discourage workplace relationships, especially "superior-inferior" in terms of relative work dynamics, isnt just that they think that the power dynamic strips both of agency. its in part because retaining the juxtaposition of personal dynamic next to the worldly dynamic otherwise is impossible.
at any given time people cannot actually gauge how the other person is feeling fully. this doesnt matter as much when youre just two strangers. its possible to make someone feel uncomfortable or do something stupid (because of substances or otherwise) by accident but its much easier to clear that away because in both your perceptions you're just people interacting w each other. this isnt the same when you have a platform in any manner. unlike a typical formation of relationships, you arent mutually choosing each other from an ocean, in this case you're being sought out (or someone is seeking you out), and then the behavioral actions are fully assumed.
like, i dont think that the reason that famous people get constantly outed for being s***pests is that literally everyone is secretly a s***post or that only s***pests somehow slyly become famous. it's because the perception of relationships and interactions are so heavily skewed you cannot continue to amass random interactions w/o skeletons accruing in your closet. All it takes is one person being naive and not understanding your intentions.this post doesn’t make sense to me
