This kind of gave me the same vibe as Spencer but nowhere near as good, the picture switching from black and white to color in random scenes was kind of annoying and the pacing felt rushed even though this was almost 3 hours. 6/10 probably won’t rewatch; Ana was good though

Just finished and I must say that I quite liked it, don’t really know that much about MM that I can judge of her real life, but I can kinda see where some of the criticism came from. This Monroe in the film came across as kind of dumb and naive lol, idk if she was irl and if it was Ana’s performance or how it was supposed to be. For the rest I think it’s one of the most interesting mainstream movies visually that I’ve seen in a long time. It’s worth the watch just for that. The movie feels like you’re in some sort of nightmare, this movie actually feels like Monroe’s entire life was a fever dream. It reminded me a lot of Franksnheimer’s Seconds in some parts for some reason. But I can understand how ppl would be mad for making a film like this portraying a woman that killed herself, there are barely any scenes in which Monroe is happy or even treated as a human being. Still I think it’s a film that adds something idk.
