    Sample on Westside?

  • Laced

As much as I agree that amine has some corny bars, y'all gotta stop over a***yzing them like this is supposed to be a lyrical rap project. It's lighthearted fun music u can throw on in the background while doing other s***. Good for the summer. Don't over think it.

Limbo was a great project if you like Aminé, he is a solid rapper fr and picks good beats, I don't think he tries too hard to impress everybody though so I guess he can't be universal

ppl just wanna call something corny or lame

    gotta peep this later

    best poster

amine is logic with a more bouncy flow

Hes more like jack harlow w a bit more spice

  • Lil Uzi Horizontal

Amine is another one of those dudes who catches unnecessary hate from the terminally online.

Not completely unlike Jack Harlow, Cordae, Teezo Touchdown. I think the KTT userbase is aging out.

Y'all with your 2010s rappers are just as bad as old dust heads with the 90s rappers.

A lot of words to just say they're average rappers lol

I'm honestly just sick of the discourse if it isn't some bubbling new trap rapper. Anybody who does something a little different or leans more towards boom bap is called boring and dusty. Also everyone says there will never be another Cole, Kendrick, Drake big 3 and most of that is because people just s*** on the newer artists that are trying to make their way. IDK is another one I could toss onto that list. I wasn't just straight out responding to your post either, or I would have quoted you. I skimmed 3-4 of the pages and then made my post. I actually like you as a poster, I think your organization of Dilla stuff had helped me at one point figuring something out.

I appreciate the interest in the Dilla organization, thank you. I also have no care for people worshiping the big three as you call it, and the "dust" thing is just such a played out non criticism that I don't bother reacting to whenever I see it.

I love that that there's more boom bappy stuff getting attention but this aint it for me

I don't like this Rebuke track for a few reasons; there are these annoying artefacts throughout the sample which could've been removed but I suppose they're going for lo-fi? which isn't an attempt I dislike but I just see no benefit in those artefacts.

Another reason is, it's a loop that sounds to me like it's best off chopped. Dilla figured this and chopped the exact same part like staccato so it swings right with the drums... but again I hear this (i'll assume intentional) wonkiness that I just don't groove with. I feel like if someone random posted this beat on youtube, nobody would be going crazy over it. Also, you just know Kay got the sample from that Dilla track ( and then sampled another Dilla track in his flip ) and he still made this?

Yep my homie confirmed that the album version of Rebuke is f***ed on his end too for AM Canada

amine has always been cool but he’s had his weird moments

i always thought this skit was kinda odd

  • I think this is great. Summer vibes heavy in check. I keep hoping Gambino popped up somewhere.

it is kinda corny but ngl I've heard people think like this before A prominent actor from my childhood died a year ago (of old age tho and not an accident so it's less corny) and my homie hit me up like "damn bruh we gotta figure out life now we old"

Def was hoping for more Rebuke, Sossaup & K&A vibes more than the other tracks, def not the album of the summer like they made it out to be

westside got me bobbin my head like a damn fool

  • May 20, 2023

Running it back a few times and it's good I like the production a bit more than Aminè rapping. I really do try to give him a chance tho. I feel like the IDK and Kay colab was better then this. also agree that snoop would slide on more Kay production

  • May 20, 2023

Amaarae and Sean both went crazy on their verses jheeze

  • May 20, 2023

amine's bars were kinda weak but his flow and presence were refreshing

Kay has some of his best beats on this (the last two especially wowwww)

the features were nice af too

  • One of the best AOTY to come out this year

    This project is beautiful

Amine + Kaytranada is a perfect marriage, great chemistry
