"Unrealistic behaviour" assumes that you're able to empathise with every type of person out there, that's like the kind of people who complain during horror movies with stuff like "oh I wouldn't have run in there, this person's an idiot, this movie sucks."

Just because you wouldn't do something personally, or can't work out why someone would do something, doesn't mean that someone wouldn't actually do that thing.

Not even close to unrealistic behavior.

There’s people out here who actually prefer to stay in prison for life because they do not trust themselves in the outside world.

There’s people who end their life permanently over certain setbacks that we would see as being able to get over.

Jimmy wanting to atone for his wrong doings and being inspired to do it by Kim is not even close to unrealistic and out of character for him

His confession doesn't affect Kim's incoming civil case, I figured as much but writers even confirmed, "you don't save me I save me" and all

How does someone who’s involved with a looming civil case that involves a former colleague who died in your apartment under extremely suspicious circumstances even step foot near anything to do with law?

Jimmy got additional time (from 7 to 86 is insanity) and she gets to mess around in some law firm? Is anyone not seeing the bullshit here?

It’s even crazier when you think about how he’s a criminal defense attorney who is always trying to get his clients the least amount of time.. and he devises a scheme to tell the truth and get 79 additional years to his sentence?

He’s never done something like this.. his true self was when he was talking to the DA with Marie in the room.. he told the truth too, it’s not like he was laying he just didn’t tell the entire truth, huge difference

I don’t think this decision felt like something he would always do, he should have been in self preservation mode more so than ever before.. but now all of a sudden he feels the need to atone?

I just don’t see it man.. I’m not happy I feel this way because of how amazing it is and how I have hardly had any quips with what the writers have done but this doesn’t feel like something his character would always do

Jimmy has always been inspired by Kim in the worst of way and the best of ways.

Dude spent a pretty long time being miserable as Gene… constantly paranoid, having to think of his regrets, his demons, his lack of friends, family, love.

The whole episode is about regrets.

He WAS gonna take the 7 years had Kim not done what she did.

He clearly can’t trust himself in the outside world, he clearly wants to take accountability for his actions, he wants whatever love and respect from Kim he can still garner from this.

This is the perfect end for a serial liar who has always deep down had good in him

I feel you but I don't really think that this is redemption and a good guy.
Think he finally realizes that he is the bad guy, and he does what he does to stop falling in that cycle.

I think over the course of the show he kinda got to that realization but never acted on it, it was fitting that he finally did.
I agree that taking 86 years as opposed to 7 isn't realistic, but within the theme of the universe it fits great imo

He chose to die in prison, nobody is going to choose that option. Self preservation is a mf, in reality nobody is willingly going to add time to their sentence to get “justice” for those affected by their decisions

It sounds good and all but it’s not grounded in any sort of reality I’m aware of lol

Think about it like this.

Kim is not gonna be with him after 7 years

He’s gonna have no one, no way to be a lawyer, no easy way to get a stable job outside of his conning people.

No family, period.

Inside prison, he’s got a legendary rep, friends, a reliable way to stay away from his very clear addiction of conning people (mostly) he can actually help people inside with his stories and whatever else he chooses to do with his skills.

This is literally the best thing for him. Not even close to worst

When he was Gene he was scared constantly of being caught, had no real friends, was constantly abusing others getting into darker and darker scams.

Man prison sucks dawg, everyday he’s in there there’s a chance he could be raped, extorted and even killed. Especially with the way his mind works, he’s a troublemaker. How is prison a better option than something like I dunno.. therapy?

He could get intensive inpatient care for his mental wellbeing. I don’t see why you think prison is the best outcome for him because it’s not some cozy place to be. I don’t think they added all of that into this equation. Like I said, it sounds good, I understand where they were coming from but it doesn’t jive well with reality. Hopefully this makes sense.
