Saw someone also theorise that maybe Gene's actively trying to get caught because it might make the news - Kim could see, then re-take the lawyer's oath to defend him?
Pretty farfetched IMO, but it's cute.
Don’t think she’d just go back into law after making such a big stance
aaron paul not much of an actor. simple as that
That's kinda true at this point, he captured lightning in a bottle once during his Breaking Bad run and hasn't done anything significant since the series ended
His acting career is probably forever going to be immortalized with his Jesse Pinkman character, what a shame, I pray I'm wrong tho :/

everyone saying hes emmy worthy in the newest season of westworld

these recasts are just getting ridiculous
the actual parallel is to the scene when walt first met saul. jimmy clowned both of them the same way

Nothing wrong with being jesse for the rest of your life lol. Royalty checks never stopping
Having now seen all Mike has been involved in pre-Breaking Bad, it's a little odd to think he'd still be bothering with these small time, random PI gigs. Or really any work that is independent of Gus.

He has to launder the big checks with a legit business with the PI stuff

That's what Madrigal is for no

hobby?
hobby?
Basically is this. But it's just a little strange and convenient when you think about it.
Like even for dealing directly with the Jane cleanup.
You would think Kuby would just be doing all this stuff.
There's a greater magnitude to Mike's character now we've seen him so directly involved in handling Lalo. Before it wasn't unrealistic to think he's out there working alongside Saul. Now it's a little more tenuous imo.

i think it’s cause him and saul had somewhat of a relationship, built earlier in the show when mike was still a parking lot attendant

the most unconvincing part is mike & saul relationship. sure they ain't buds but in breaking bad saul has no willing to do business with mike, because he was scared of him and didn't trust him, which devalues their story in BCS
they lowkey tried to fix that in this episode, but still not seamless

Need to rewatch once this wraps up

Yeah its kinda convenient but I think its part of the Gus job.
He keeps his ears to the streets, finds out potential partners/threats etc
Plus im sure Saul pays handsomely
Also, the 'it wasn't me it was nacho' thing. Still a little weird to think that's where his head would go after 4 years. Maybe not though.
Feel like they didn't need to leave such a massive gap between Lalo and the start of the Breaking Bad timeline. Just sorta got written into that corner.
Shame too we don't get to see more of Crazy 8 as an informant. Tuco coming back from prison. Hank and Gomie. That's where I thought they were gonna go with this season - and Lalo playing dead successfully for far longer.

Saul and Mike had a functioning business partnership until Mike threatened him to get information on Jesse’s whereabouts.
It fits canon.

in breaking bad saul barely knew mike and was always suspicious about him. they did that scene only to smooth things between BB & BCS
tbh the best sollution would be to show mike from the bad side betraying saul's trust (but it still could be not very organic for his character)

mike always didn't stand on ceremony with saul, but BB created a feeling they are strangers to each other
only retcon i can thinking of in BB is saul's "i know a guy who knows a guy, who knows another guy"
its just saul -> mike -> gus
there is no other guy. garbage show
Gotta say, as great as these past two episodes have been, feel like I would have enjoyed them wayyy more if I never read the quotes from Peter and the gang talking about how the ending to this series is going to be extremely surprising and unique.
Still nothing shocking, just kinda feels like I’m watching Gene replay his old self-destructive tendencies in ways very reminiscent of season 1 and pre-series with Marco. Not that it doesn’t feel natural and true to who he is, because it definitely does
just wait til Huell stinkface Gene to death in the finale
