legally not
morally, maybe
I dont mind tipping but i hate when waitresses get an attitude when i dont tip for to go orders like wtf
Now I might sound like an a****** but I f***ing hate tipping, like nigga get another focking job. Like why do I have to give someone 10-15% of what I ate for doing their job? Why shouldn't the restaurant just pay them like everyone else.
Also I hate giving money or change to the homeless. I just got back from buying a pizza, and this kid who smelled like he hadn't bathed in 24 days came up to me and asked me for money to eat. I ended up giving him some of what I had and then I see his mom calling him and he goes and directly gives her the money. I was so focking pisses I was honestly gonna go after her, take back my money and tell her she doesn't need to make her son ask for money. And that she shouldn't have him in tore up clothes and without bathing several days so people outta pity give him more money.
Seriously, I was thinking of kicking the s*** outta her fat ass.
Btw did you guys know that in Japan it's considered rude to tip. Like why is everyone in the world looking for a hand out. Like s*** man, I myself work 10 hours a day and I honestly don't feel like you should have a percentage of the money wasted on my food on you.
OP you're completely right, this parasitic system shouldn't exist and it's the servers getting f***ed over so the employer can line their pockets. But it is like that rn and people need it to survive so tip lmao.
That's like saying " am I legally obligated to let old people sit down"
Starbucks asking me to tip in the drive thru, Panda Express asking me to donate every time, restaurants asking me to tip when I order take out, pizza places asking me to tip for picking up a pizza, god damn everybody wants free f***ing money
Iβd tip none of those
I think the goverment should make tipping illegal. It s basically stealing.
Like if a person wants to tip it's fine. But don't focking put on my ticket that the 10 or 15% of my meal is for the focking waiter.
Wtf they ask you for a tip when you order and pick up your own pizza
Wtf, where?
everywhere tbh
Kinda f***ed up that tipping is status quo in America. Like pay your own employees bruh i don't have to tip my cashier at a store or my nurse at the hospital
Americans would rather call you broke or an a****** instead of fixing the system smh

Forreal
I'll tip if I want to. You are not broke just because you choose not to tip

this isn't true at all... waiters can make way more due to tips. most prefer tips vs no tips and a flat hourly wage. Barbers like tips as well. most jobs that perform services do.

it would be the same cost either way assuming you tip.

Then work the wages into the actual cost instead of adding a bonus unspoken charge at the end that apparently means you're a piece of s*** if you don't pay it
If you don't wanna tip, don't eat at restaurants lol. That s*** is exorbitant nowadays anyway
I only really go to sit-down places if it's something like a date or if it's during work trips
Visiting Europe gave me a vision of how life could be. Better food quality, better service, no tip bc the restaurant owners actually pay their employees, and still affordable

if you go in expecting to tip it doesn't matter imo

All I know is I ate some steak tartare and the best steak au poivre I've ever had in my life and that s*** was cheaper than a red lobster dinner

It's the same as commission based jobs. You CAN get paid more but you get paid less securely. Go to another country, you know what people want ? They get paid a good wage and THEN you can still tip. Outrageous huh?
