Suddenly people care how much a movie makes and reviews fr critics they don’t know more than the movie
Damn it reviewed way worse too…
At least Tom got his wish with the paramount deal closing
Yo lmfao this movie was f***ing insane ngl I loved every minute of it
It really reminds me of Dr Strangelove type of humor
Honestly 10/10 would rewatch
Very endearing how much they ride for each other.
That’s love . White directors don’t get a fraction of the hate non white directors do

It’s highly ironic people keep focusing on climate change story when it’s really about media . Allegory of the cave .
There are parts of this movie where I feel like are so on the nose that I laugh and feel sad at the same time because that's really just the state of the world.
I guess that's the point of satire but yeah interesting
Also, just seeing the rotting display of wealth and power evolve was pretty cool.
Damn it reviewed way worse too…

What is booktok
Tom Cruise does a lot to keep the film alive. The bit fluctuates between grating and amusing, but he’s completely committed to it. I’m a little confused on the usefulness of what this is satirizing, though. If the target is movies, it feels like a pretty small one. Don’t Look Up is the obvious example, but how many of these movies are there really? I think a better target is SNL and the whole ecosystem of liberal late-night comedy, but the cultural cache is dust. That s\*\*\* already has a reputation for being lame, toothless and self-congratulatory. It feels a little like Digger is punching at ghosts.
Digger spends most of its runtime doing the exact thing it seems to be criticizing. Digger is still a broad caricature. We’re still watching powerful people act like grotesque idiots. We’re still supposed to laugh. The Fossil Fools reveal basically gives the movie an out: yes, this is broad, but we know it’s broad. Yes, this kind of satire is ineffective, but we know that too.
That self-awareness isn’t all that profound a point, and it doesn’t justify a movie that just isn’t that funny. Don’t Look Up might be obnoxiously convinced of its own righteousness, but at least it isn’t also congratulating itself for understanding why movies like Don’t Look Up are inadequate.

the movie is like allergies of the cave . Making you question what you are seeing and being sold . We find ourselves laughing because it’s often so unrealistic or over the top . While also some of those executives secret thoughts based on their actions . It’s not just criticizing art it’s criticizing the media. Our reality . It’s saying 20-25 years or a decade later we try to laugh at how we got there and GIVE MONEY TO THE SAME PEOPLE that causes the problem and our modern oppressions . We think the art is freeing but truth is it’s oppressing us
