He made a sequel as well

Thought this was the outro
This was the actual tweet
This was supposed to be the conclusion to "Dear Moleskine".. recorded some time back in London. Oh well.. Write your own tale of depression and eventual redemption! Best of luck
Maybe he’s gonna pull a Terrance malick and just start dropping like crazy
Rap game Malick
I’ll believe it when I hear it though. But a Jay Elec album is really what the world needs.
It's cool he got an album now he wants to release but wtf I want to listen to the 2012 version too. I've been waiting for that Ye x Jay Elec forever
also the 6 songs that already dropped are f***ing classic smh

Blown away by how often malick drops now. Still remember seeing the new world and being blown away.
even they'll tell you that Nas s***s on them
They’d be wrong
Maybe you can make an argument for Yasiin Bey, definirely not Jay Elect. Nas doesn’t have his pen at all. Nas has an amazing grounded perspective from his life but Jay ELect has a much more spiritual, more fleshed out, passionate and poetic pen. That’s just how i feel anyway
cus my favorite personal Nas tracks like Purple, Drunk by Myself, etc he’s not really saying anything profound, just saying simple things very beautifully

Nas is better at painting vivid pictures and storytelling
Jay got his strengths, but overall Nas is the better artist hands down, with the fresher and more youthful presence
And lol if you think Nas ain't saying anything profound you just skimmed through his music while giving Jay more attention

I know you did not just call Nas young in AD year of our lord 2020..
I’ll give Nas storytelling. But Jay’s quiet, wide eyed, incredibly sage like way of captivating a listener and how he constructs verses is much more interesting to me. Jay has sounded basically the exact same in his perspective since Eternal Sunshine days. He has a timeless and all knowing kind of charisma and personality i just love that Nas doesn’t have and effectively ruins sporadically now. Jay elect every song profound. Like a song like White Label or Bonjour or Jarreua of Rap just unlistenable to me. Jay has no songs like that at all, unless we talking that early 00s s*** that’s like 96 kbps recorded on a Flip camcorder

Idk man, I love Jay E but this post made me cringe too hard to keep discussing this
I dont know bout better artist
Lmao? Nas got multiple classics under his belt, including the best rap album OAT.. kept evolving his subject matter throughout his career too, took risks musically and succeeded.
Jay got nothing like One Mic for example.
S***, Nas's catalog of loosies alone stacks up against Jay's entire discog

I'm talking bout in terms of "artistry" if u get what I mean, like creativity, nas is a goat and he has a handle of creative songs like one mic, book of rhymes, rewind, power, but a lot of his song he's just rhyming which is an art itself
But jay a lil different
Like act 1 and act 2 loosies are example of this
And jay has all of act 1, better in tune that easily stand up to one mic
And jay has a lot of music out that can easily be find I have a bout 132 songs of his
