There’s leaks during the album period (For example, extraordinary the singer on the track said her and Drake were working together until the TSOA came out and he just added other songs), Leading up to those Project his actions showed things changed ( In The Zane Lowe Interview he said how he loved Dancehall more and called HH toxic and following TSOA he removed scorpion from his bio and added a 3rd single which was unnecessary), From the leaks it seemed like Scorpion was gonna be a darker toned Drake project but instead he added 10 songs when he originally had 15 (he says this on the shop which makes people think The Original Scorpion was supposed to be 15 tracks). With scorpion he tried to cater to all his fan base to appease them/ make them forget about Push. Views he just didn’t want to make HH centric music because of how draining and toxic the meek beef was. Those two beefs impacted those projects

Which are bullshit and disappointing reasons. Those beefs shouldn't have changed s***. I remember him saying how he almost took off all the rap off of Views because of it. So his hip hop pen is questioned and it makes him do the opposite of proving himself? Disappointing.

There was no reason for him to change Scorpion at all. All he has to do is make another reply song separate from the album like Duppy Freestyle to address Pusha and leave the album free of any mention of him or Ye. All those songs he added could have just released as loosies or a mixtape. He has no excuse for bloating Scorpion. I hate this take so much.

As if the official drops and all the leaks y'all got last year wasn't more than enough to hold you over. Y'all got like 40 songs last year combined and y'all are still acting like the world will implode if he doesn't drop in two weeks.

This is easily his worst album rollout lol. I was fine and actually supporting it dropping in 2021, because of the fact landscape wise its a better time to push music. However....

1. We have had 1 song and nothing 5 months later

2. The features going into this era are underwhelming and forgettable. Features tend to elevate the hype for his album eras. We had F***in Problems/No New Friends/etc going into NWTS. We had Work/Where Ya At/etc going into Views. We had Look Alive/Yes Indeed/Walk It Talk It going into Scorpion.

We have You're Mines and Mr. Right Now going into this...

3. He also sort of botched the release of CLB merch and Nocta merch imo. CLB's merch drop was very off the radar and the puffer jacket not being released was a DUB. Also made no sense to drop the album merch so far out from the actual album release. Nocta could had more hype... like commercials, pop-up stores, something.

The easiest thing he can do to get the album hype back on track is the next single is an instant smash/connect with everyone. I just don't want him to drop a song that is weak after all this bad planning cause then it's really gonna be weird going into this album release lol.

If he dropped another I'm Upset/Summer Sixteen type fluke right before the album I'd be pissed.

First the reasoning is his own because it’s HIS PROJECT his pen being questioned wasn’t the only thing that happened people turned on him i.e ross made a track and producers he f***ed with were lining up to give Meek help and HH media was going at him for a year even though he won. That’s toxic asf when you are trying to make a project highlighting hip hop when more want you gone (spoke on this in Zane lowe interview). With Push the saddest thing is you failed to realize the gravity of the situation when Push released his track part of Drakes audience that have never fully embraced rap were introduced to someone exposing him as a “deadbeat” the actions following that was to cleanup that situation. Let him make a dark toned album when he gets called out for being a deadbeat father isn’t a good image going into an album and the central focus would be on that situation. him responding with a song does/accomplishes nothing good for Drake ( Joe Budden even explains this by referencing his and Drakes beef as well as no one cares about Pusha T that much to hear the dirt about him Drake would still be painted as the loser) . understand drake doesn’t have a fanbase that solely listens to rap
Also who is Drake going to prove himself too?? The media who are getting anyone on interviews to s*** on him? Fans who are not even questioning the validity of the claims?? Other artists who have known for years Drake writes for other people?? Or Maybe Haters who don’t like him and have been saying for 5 years he doesn’t write his music??

Drake turns tail and tries to make just a singing album with Views and not respond to Pusha with a record but just subliminal diss him in other records. Nah that's inexcusable from someone claiming to be the best.

All this s*** your saying is my problem with this take and his excuses. It ain't the Drake I knew growing up. The Drake coming up would respond to any pressure with heat. We got some of his best lyrical songs from that (Dreams Money Can Buy, 5AM in Toronto, 0 to 100 / The Catch Up, 30 For 30 Freestyle, etc). That Drake wanted to be the best. He was trying to prove to himself and the world he was the best. That Drake wouldn't let s*** change the course of his album. That Drake would definitely respond back to Push because it does accomplish something for him. Proving once and for all he deserves to be consider one of the best rappers despite also singing R&B and Pop and being the biggest mainstream artist.
