This album was “finished” one year ago. He probably changed a lot but still, there was plenty of time to plan a rollout.

Finished doesn't mean he was happy with it. Could just mean it was ready for release.

The pandemic made him push it back since he couldn't tour. All he has to do is drop one or two singles and then the album. He could do it all this month but he would have to shoot the videos.
