Not sure why you and that other dude like to put words in my mouth but I never said I didn't his last 4 projects weren't good just that overall they weren't impressive compared to what I know he can do. His feature run definitely underrated. I'll take back the some on that over half of them have been really great. But individual songs is definitely only some.
I never get the point that "I'm setting myself up for disappointment" like I can't expect high quality music from him anymore? Type of logic is that? Let's get one thing straight because I am tired of explaining this apparent foreign concept to you guys. I enjoy Drake's music. All the music I have critiqued I have enjoyed and play regularly. I can still like the music and be critical of it
. Difficult concept apparently.
Drake is a master hitmaker. I know this, you know this, he knows this. He can keep making hits and please the masses because that's all most people care about nowadays. Just need a song good enough to dance to, workout too, tiktok too, etc. I enjoy those songs. Just know he can make music with higher quality and I enjoy that music from him much more. Especially because those music can do all those things to WHILE being high quality.
Also I don't need him to make music reminiscent of his old style. He can make any type of music. I'm just looking for it to be as high of a quality as songs from the past.
Drake has released some amazing tracks during his feature run since 2018 and you just brushed it off as "same old Drake" yet you're expecting to be amazed with CLB. You don't have a high standard, you have an unrealistic standard. The problem isn't that Drake ever stopped making great music. It's that YOU stopped seeing the music he makes as great and again, that's on YOU.
Days in the East, 0-100, Drake has made songs just as good, if not better in the last 3 years but you don't recognize that because like I said, your standards are now unrealistic.
Drake has given some of his best rap performances in in the last 3 years. Made some of his best songs in the same time span. It's okay if you can't see that but don't expect that he'll magically give you that feeling you're looking for with CLB because it's clear that your unrealistic expectations are the issue here, not the actual quality of his releases. You're better off listening to his old s***.

He's not signed to Young Money anymore. This doesn't mean s***. They don't know his plans.
I just want that refined 40 sound
40 can't tap into that anymore. He's proven that with his production contributions over the last 5 years. I actually don't want any 40 production on this album. He should stick to engineering.

Yeah that’s all drake is… a great hit maker… the music has been high quality for his whole career. Sure there are some songs that are better than others, but you know when you see a new loosie/single or (feat. Drake) posted on IG everyone knows what drake is going to bring to the table. I mean he didn’t just reach his spot by accident it takes consistency, quality, and so much more. I respect your opinion, but it’s just not the truth…

You do realize every bit of production goes thru 40s hands before release. Whether it be from Oz to metro
This ain't it
40's sound and style is dated as f***. That's a fact. He's still a GOAT producer but since 2016, it's become very clear just how dated his production is. He's still an amazing engineer. One of the best in the game. He should focus on that with CLB.
40 is cool, I just don’t OZ to be all over this album
Dudes production is so bland and little Samey too
Get me dudes like C Gutta, 9th Wonder, Neptunes, Kaytranada, Wheezy, Dahi, Just Blaze, etc.

And so? You're talking like that means he's co-producing every Drake record when he isn't. Most Drake records go through his hands because he mixes most Drake records. He's stepped back a lot on producing because he only did that for Drake. He's always been more of an audio engineer. That's his real strength. He's said so himself several times.

In for more bland OZ drum programming all throughout CLB

You keep holding on to this feature thing and I already said I take back some that take on the feature part. Again you and that guy love putting words in my mouth to suite what you are trying to say so I'll say this one last time and be done with it.
I never said he stopped making great music. Just haven't been impressed by most of it. The amount of great music compared to mediocre is way lower imo. But It's the fact that he still makes great music and has had some of his best rap performances that makes me hopeful for for CLB. Songs like Chicago Freestyle, Vital, Deep Pockets, Not Around and Omerta have all made me believe he can still make impressive music.
We are going to have to agree to disagree on the higher standards/expectations angle. Again I think it stems from you and and pretty much a lot of you stans misunderstanding of my view on this. I don't think it's unrealistic at all to expect him to improve and/or release similar high quality music that he has done in the past. From my point of view most of you are just complacent and easily impressed by anything he releases. That's fine yo. I ain't going to stop discussing my feelings about his music on part of a forum with his name on it. I listen to his old music, I listen to his new music. I enjoy them all.

They don't even realize it themselves. That's why you'll always see them romanticizing his past music. It's not because of the actual quality of the songs but because of how those songs made them feel.
Drake can make factually better songs at this point in his career with way better songwriting/production and mixed way better and niggas will still talk down on it just because.
I hate this narrative that he stopped making great music after 2015 because that's a blatant lie. Some of the best songs of his career came after 2015 and he's still hitting those high marks today.
It just boils down to niggas not being satisfied with him anymore and that's okay but they'll never admit it. They'll act like he isn't still making the best music amongst most of his peers so they'll keep talking down on anything he drops hoping that he'll drop something that'll make them feel the way they felt in 2012/2013 when he isn't that person anymore and he simply can't do that.

Yes. Drake x dahi need to be a regular occurrence

You literally mentioned Days in the East and 0-100 as examples of him reaching some kind of artistic peak and acted like he hasn't made songs as good and even better than those songs since then. Why won't we call you out on such a bullshit statement? It's okay to have a high standard, yes, but don't make them unrealistic — which is what you're doing. He has been consistently hitting those same peaks you mentioned so what's the problem? Every song he drops won't match the quality of his best songs. That goes without saying but it seems to be something you don't understand.
prediction that drake posts him listening to donda on his story, leads to ye reaching out and producing a song on the album with an old melodic sample that drake spits crazy over
