thegreatdivineI'm not downplaying Kanye's contributions as a producer. He's GOATed as a producer already.
I'm saying for the last however many years, he's not the lead producer on any of the songs he has production credit on. He contributes very little to those beats. He adds in a kick or snare and gives himself a production credit but most of those records are produced mainly but other people. His strength these days is being a masterful curator. Ultimately, that requires a level of skill to do, which he's one of the best at. He's an excellent executive producer and has always been.
Boi-1da likes to co-produce with other producers but he also has several songs where he's the only credited producer. Anyone doubting his ability is silly.

But at the same time collaboration has always been part of his work. Doesn't change the fact his vision normally leads to great production.

Kanye is a great beat maker and producer. Him working with drake in that capacity would be dope from a pure music fan perspective. Thatâs it.

Yes, I'm referring to that as well. The beat for Find Your Love is historically terrible. Many people even accused Kanye of trying to sabotage Drake with that beat. The Lift Yourself beat that Drake actually liked and wanted, Kanye trolled him with it and ended up not giving it to him. Even their collabs are wack. Glow is wack. Pop Style is terrible. Songs like Feel No Ways, 2B1S, U with Me? aren't songs Kanye actually produced on but his drums were used on those beats so he got a production credit.
There's nothing to suggest that Drake and Kanye make great music together.
Obviously, fans can want them to work together and that's cool. I'm just saying that they don't have some longstanding history of great work together, that's all.

Does anyone remember back in 2013 when Cole pushed his release date for Born Sinner up so that he could drop on the same day as Kanye? And if you remember, Cole outsold him by roughly 40,000 copies. Drake could do something similar. Since the album is just needing mixing, he could expedite the process and drop the same day as Kanye. In Drake's mind - what is the best way to get rid of Ye than to decimate his numbers by dropping CLB on the same day?
