How isn't it true? Kanye magically didn't credit most of the producers on ye till they called him out. Even the beats off all the Good Music albums that dropped in 2018 were mostly by other producers. Kanye was more of an executive producer than anything else.

I don’t wanna make this thread about Kanye but Kanye has made a good amount of beats as the lead producer recently and even the co production doesn’t downplay artistic vision and ability as a producer

I'm not downplaying Kanye's contributions as a producer. He's GOATed as a producer already.

I'm saying for the last however many years, he's not the lead producer on any of the songs he has production credit on. He contributes very little to those beats. He adds in a kick or snare and gives himself a production credit but most of those records are produced mainly but other people. His strength these days is being a masterful curator. Ultimately, that requires a level of skill to do, which he's one of the best at. He's an excellent executive producer and has always been.

Boi-1da likes to co-produce with other producers but he also has several songs where he's the only credited producer. Anyone doubting his ability is silly.
