I think he's finally grown up in a sense. He's been figuring himself out since after Kissland and he bounced around so many sounds. MDM was him rediscovering how to make his music personal again.

That's what makes this album unique. You get the feeling that he's bring you closer to his life and struggles with Bella then he ever did with BBTM or Starboy. The thematical and loosely lyrical narrative of going to Vegas to get away from the LA stress and ending up relapsing is far more nuanced then his previous concepts.

Production wise, obviously it's extremely strong. Kissland level for sure. How he blends his old RnB sound, trap, and 80s synth pop into a cohesive album is honestly a feat in itself.

Zero filler. The biggest reason for haters to hate is the ones who can't get behind the 80s synth pop. And it is what it is. Abel has grown past the fans who can't get over him becoming a progressive and dynamic pop star.

Cohesive, focused, matured. For anyone who doesn’t like it, I definitely think this will be a grower.

Only heard singles plus intro, Escape from LA, Faith and Too Late. Too Late is easily the best, anything else close to that and does anyone else love Too Late?
