it's more about climate change cause in a recent interview he said he wrote it before the pandemic
Yeah there’s no debate he already said it’s his take on how the world isn’t taking climate change seriously
It’s a decent film with some great performances. Not as bad as people have said but also not really great
One of McKays worst but still not bad
Clear commentary/satire of how capitalism will fail us and how divided we’ve been.
Even though it was written before COVID it definitely feels like COVID had some influence on this. Came off a bit preachy overall but I feel like that what McKay has been leaning toward?
give it a shot and see what you think. most people I’ve seen have liked it. i didn’t f*** with it too much but the last half was pretty intense.
Gonna watch it with my girlfriend on Thursday and see
Seeing as how I thought Vice was enjoyable I’m not surprised that this was a poignant film for me. I feel like the highest highs of that film are reached in this much more easily. In terms of comedy, pacing, and polish this is an improvement from Adam McKay. Acting wise it felt like everyone delivered. THAT scene with Leo was so passionate and I could a part of that came from his own beliefs. Jennifer Lawrence put in one of her best performances in years as well. I wish there was more Rob Morgan because his scenes were fantastic. Regardless of that, many of the criticisms of this are still valid. The first half of the movie can be very silly or over the top trying to give its message. It’s a shame because I thought the second half hit every mark it wanted to make and the ending was very impactful. I’ll most likely rewatch it to see if the first half is easier to digest but right now I’m still feeling mixed about it. 7.5-8/10 for me
Good fun.
Editing was a big W for me.
Felt chaotic. Felt bold. Felt like you were in the mind of certain characters on particular shots. Felt like I was reading book that was switching POVS on me every few pages. The themes were solid and well rounded out by the end.

Other Main point surprised that Jenifer Lawrence was that thirsty for Chalamet
I enjoyed it
Great tv film
Another meta film but I understand seems like Hollywood needs society to realize how dumb they look
