I always just find it kinda funny what a hate boner u guys have for p4k tbh. are u just butthurt their rating scale is harsh? how often have u actually read more than a paragraph of their reviews? and what comparable outlet do u read?

to me they're lit just one of the last bigger outlets left covering both pop and more underground music and have a lot of the most interesting writers rn including alphonse working for them.

like r u very sure u don't just hate music journalism in general? bc it sometimes sounds like ur allergic to opinions lol I thought that's what it's about

Their rating scale isn't harsh, it's nonsensical. Horrible written reviews that barely focuses on the music. Both the score and review often feel like they're more directed at the artist than the project itself or they're suiting some other kind of agenda not related to the music. Do you think Invasion of Privacy is a 8.7? Especially according to the "harsh rating scale" they have?

This is an excerpt from their review of the Off Season
"In a recent interview with Slam, he opened up about how he was once so tormented by aspirations to make long-lasting music that he wouldn’t even allow himself to complete watching a full season of television. Imagine not letting yourself binge-watch Bob’s Burgers or whatever because you’re too busy trying to make the next The Blueprint! Sounds terrible! Well, finally he’s come to the realization he needs to chill out. Refreshingly, his latest album The Off-Season isn’t so damn uptight."
Like bro, what is this s***

His return to public eye? Are they talking about since the Rihanna thing? Or did I miss something

  • I love when people are like “this is why no one takes you seriously” in reply to a pitchfork review in the middle of a paragraph they’re writing about said pitchfork review. Sounds like they are taking them seriously

  • Salad

His return to public eye? Are they talking about since the Rihanna thing? Or did I miss something

He gains a new set of DV/SA allegations every other year

  • Smacked Voodoo

Yeah man, it's just a gimmick.

Why do y'all always fall back on Playboi Carti as if people also don't find him a corny ass weirdo who beats women, along with being a deadbeat?

    F*** both these niggas

How many critics are calling him a piece of s*** in their album review section

  • We stopped reading Pitchfork reviews in like 2010 cuz

    Stream Brown today

  • Mafia Boss

Dont let them gaslight you like we cant see the article he wrote for Carti

Its so funny the hula hoops people go thru to defend carti its a sickness. They acknowledge both but only treat one like a true criminal i wonder why

  • Sleeze

    Since he apologized to Rihanna?

I’m talking about Ray rice not Chris brown

    Cb hate is fair

  • Flynn

Ray Rice was a good man who had a really bad moment that went public.

CB is not ray rice man

That’s why I’m talking about Ray rice

  • fantano opinion hold more weight than pitchfork at this point why do people even care about them?

  • Bestinthismess

That’s new school Carti fans. Og Carti fans that were rocking since self titled were black mostly. Magnolia was a black song. Yes his fanbase has been gentrified since around Die Lit, but it started black.

Carti always had and still does have black fans… but his fan base was never majority black unless we talkin bout when he was making music in high school or sumn. Even back during the awful days or Cash Carti.. he was of that hipster rap scene which ushered in the SoundCloud era. The demo of that fan group was diverse
