is it safe to say most of his concert crowd are millenail women ?

Its mostly 90s-00s women and tagalong niggas

That’s new school Carti fans. Og Carti fans that were rocking since self titled were black mostly. Magnolia was a black song. Yes his fanbase has been gentrified since around Die Lit, but it started black.

I mean yeah that’s the trajectory for most rappers moving up in mainstream

But I was making that point because people bring up Carti apologists but they’re just two different groups of people

most middle aged black women ain’t riding for Carti the way they would Chris brown

So maybe one day, when Forever: The Chris Brown Story hits the cineplex, and a son turns to his dad and asks, “Pop, if Chris Brown was so talented, why was the world so mean to him?” they can pull up some s*** to read like I did. Or maybe everything negative will be scrubbed from the internet by then, and dad will feed his boy the good ol’ fashioned, “That’s what happens to you when you’re a man in this country,” as they fire up a video of Chris Brown landing a backflip on beat.

  • Ok, pitchfork just epically owned Chris Brown here!

I always just find it kinda funny what a hate boner u guys have for p4k tbh. are u just butthurt their rating scale is harsh? how often have u actually read more than a paragraph of their reviews? and what comparable outlet do u read?

to me they're lit just one of the last bigger outlets left covering both pop and more underground music and have a lot of the most interesting writers rn including alphonse working for them.

like r u very sure u don't just hate music journalism in general? bc it sometimes sounds like ur allergic to opinions lol I thought that's what it's about

  • or is this just a bunch of Chris Brown apologists itt how can hating him be controversial lol

i don't have a problem with the review or score, but pitchfork to me has never been the pinnacle of elite music journalism at all and has definitely utilized provocation since their indie roots

if i want to read good music writing, i'll go to stereogum

  • F*** chris and anybody who love

and stop callin this fraud rnb he watered down pop s*** last rnb song was kiss kiss when aol was around

i wonder how better chris would be as a human if he just stayed in virginia

The tweet told absolutely no lies, not sure why it offended you.

This album was some dookie, I had it at 3/10.
Chris has always needed a legit A&R/ Executive producer to direct his albums.

They're the biggest review platform in the Internet space (ain't nobody discussing a Rolling Stone score like that) so a bit of tall poppy syndrome

But the whole purpose of P4K as a listener is to find new albums, help you sort through upcoming listens & to help you navigate old albums, one of the best received new acts by KTT2 only got awareness from most people on here because P4K gave him a Best New Music review

I don't check it anymore due to the subscription (I must be broke) although I used to check it most mornings & it always helped me find new stuff

They do get things 'wrong' too but despite that & the every trap album gets a 7+ thing because we are overcompensating they are usuallu one of the few publications who actually give brave scores, the majority of review scores play it so safe & overrate things these days, Metacritic has been useless since ~2017

1.8: high scores for musicians they don't like
2.4: Alphonse not writing favourable stuff for artists they like
3.7: It became the cool thing to do VALID
4.2: Drake stans mad that they haven't give Lazy era Drake good reviews (meanwhile they've given him 6 8+ reviews before)
5.9: Posters pretending to be black trying to call something white to hide from their own whiteness
6.7: they have been fairly out of touch with certain areas of rap & overcompensate at times VALID
7.4: the lazy overcorrection from their past near-Indie Rockism to the era where most average trap albums were just getting a 7+ just because VALID
8.7: they mad they couldn't go to Chicago for the superb lineups the festival had
9.3: the shift in style/taste post their Conde Nast acquisition VALID
10: folks still mad that Fiona Apple got a 10

Bonus: 0.0: folks don't like how they've reviewed Kanye post 2016 (smh, they overrated TLOP, Mfers should be happ
0.1: They usually seem to give artists lower scores if they've dissed P4K before VALID

Half of these apply to Fantano too, although I never really watched his stuff (last review I saw was a Gunna review KTT2 said was worth watching ~5 years ago)
