My argument for Testing being a masterpiece has nothing to do with how good the lyrics are. I’m just arguing your stupid point cus you’re cherry picking.

In 2011/2012 i didn’t love Live Love ASAP cus of the f***in lyricism lmfao, you just decide it matters when you need it to.

The fact that you can’t differentiate between outright horrible lyrics that ruin the entire track and lyrics on his previous albums says everything about the way you consume music

Live Love was literally generic swap rap lyrically. Something having more bars and verses per song does not make it automatically better. The point has never been Rocky is a lyricist, it’s always been how he’s delivered his words, flow, and his charisma. Testing takes a different approach altogether with the lyrics because he is actually songwriting now instead of rapping over beats. There’s songs that are meant to be more surreal and atmospheric, there’s s*** that’s meant to be more personal and intimate, things meant to be aggressive and braggadocious. Distorted Records, for example, has added repetition and the freestyle feeling of the track serves a purpose musically. You’re meant to be introduced to Rocky in a d*** induced im feeling myself kind of haze. The juvenile and amateur feel of it adds to the musical identity of the project as a whole. If you wanna really talk about it we can really talk about it.

You continue to debate with points that I haven’t made or implied. I don’t need you to break down Rocky as an artist to me or the lack of concept on Testing. None of this makes the listening experience a good one and none of this makes up for his pee pee poo poo esque lyrics.

So you agree that the man who takes up 70% of the space on the song is bringing terrible material to the table but you still think it’s a masterpiece because of the beat and a 10 sec Carti verse...

    Lol

carti brings in a whole vibe with his features, its not just his verse. his adlibs, melodies. dont play with carti name.

and testing is a f***ing classic, you just dont know it yet.

i gave testing a listen during an acip trip recently and it changed my opinion completely on it, wish id read your post before posting.

the frank influence on rocky is heavy but its bringing out the best out of him as an artist.
