    Just like not everybody can be an entrepreneur, not everybody can be the super artsy "don't put me in a box" experimental guy. At least not to the point where it's unique and defining, which u can tell that's what Rocky wants. And that's okay. Calling it out also doesn't make someone close minded, a hater, or anti art/experimentation.

    this is just a layman’s idea of what experimentation actually is, all his albums involve him departing the sound of the previous one that in its self is pushing whatever boundaries you think you have

    I don’t think the song is bad, it’s just kinda generic

    When artists switch genres (especially rappers switching to rock) it’s painfully generic like 90% of the time. You can almost always tell they’re not that deep into that world

    and rocky shoots himself in the foot by being so on the nose about how he’s experimenting (literally calling an album testing) that it comes off performative and “look at me, i’m different”

    Absolutely the name testing undermines the whole thing, aesthetic was dope too but you just can’t name it that, maybe if it were tongue and cheek, but it’s not at all lol
