    I don't think

    1. rick and morty humor
    2. Disney movie

    were the best of criticisms

I do definitely think the best way to experience the movie was in theaters with an audience going in blind or not crazy expectations so early in its release

I don’t get it cause, like, since when was Rick and Morty unfunny? Sure, it left its peak (with a slight return to form this season) and it has occasional duds but it’s always been pretty clever to me. Rick and Morty fans have always been more cringe than the show itself. That being said, it doesn’t even feel that much like Rick and Morty humor to me. Just cause it’s a multiverse and features chaotic randomness. It’s always felt to me like a comedy adventure from the 80s got zapped into the future.

The Disney / MCU comparisons make absolutely zero sense and are lazy as f***.

I wasnt being provocative I was just saying the people who don't like it realize it has a positive enough message so don't want to bother bringing a bunch of negativity in here. So stop asking us to

I like a good d*** sucking as much as the next guy but good faith negativity is often more interesting. But fine, you do you.

I don't like to criticize things that weren't really made for me. I can see how other people connect with it and in this case going out of my way to talk s*** would be in bad taste.

I probably talked more s*** than was necessary in the Avatar 2 thread, so I know how hate can sometimes feel weird and misplaced.

Cameron is just another fellow Canadian white boy so I will be lighting his ass up if he wastes my time again not in a rush to see that though

Do you think it’s similar to when people see a superhero movie, and if it has jokes in it they automatically dislike it? Like, hardcore Snyder fans? Sometimes there’s a thing where people see something and they’re like, oh, this is silly? It can’t be serious and emotional if it’s silly in other moments. But those don’t have to be mutually exclusive. I feel like if you saw an EEAAO hater in the wild they’d fall along those lines but I think the commenters here are mostly smarter than that.

Speed Racer did the overwhelming alot ness while juggling silly with emotional alot better for me. Seventh Seal is as grim as it's reputed to be but also hilarious and beautiful a good chunk of the time. The Master. Night Of The Hunter. All my favourites straddle the line. This just didn't connect with me as a 5th generation Canadian with mental health relatively stable. Grew up doing martial arts with immigrants so I could somewhat appreciate where it's coming from but still didnt connect.

Hmmm I get that . Much of the feeling and stress of taxes or not being enough connected so much because of American upbringing

I try not to go into movies wanting or expecting anything.

But for me what it felt like was just one giant second act and then an ending.

It just started dragging and by the time the ending did come I was a little checked out.
