I would never get heated about it cause they've been heaping praise on the wrong movies from day 1 but I'm down to casually debate them since they're supposed to represent the cream of the crop. Not even sure what the f*** y'all are even debating anymore though.

Spike Lee deserves wins . Eeeao was an enjoyable movie to me I understand how it could win even if it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. That’s it . You over here saying payola , they riding multidimensional wave , Rick and morty and all these conspiracy to discredit them

Ok, I’ll put it like this: Is it possible that some voters might have wanted to give it a little extra love because it has an Asian cast? Yes. Do I think that that’s why it won? No. Do I think that the voters banded together to agree upon a narrative? No.
This is the way I feel, cause it feels the most congruent with A. What I think is realistic and B. What the other award shows, critical response, and word of mouth have told us.I think this ended up winning for the same reason Jeanne Dielman would up topping the Sight and Sound top 100 films oat list.
The voting pool is finally diversified and the POC and women that have been (rightfully) sick of white man dominating for a century overcompensated and swung the pendulum a little too far the other way.
