they shouldn't and won't. don't worry. James Gunn has made it a point to make well-written stories that are unique in their direction and a great representation of what makes DC so much more interesting that what the MCU has brought forward, especially in recent years.
you seen the guardians movies? more so guardians 3? cause it def is coming across as though James has a strong passion for Superman and how it ties into his own personal life as a person who is looked at as an outsider within this industry / world
I'm not the biggest fan of Peacemaker, or The Suicide Squad, but I trust him with this for some strong reason. His mind and heart are in this and I fully expect this movie to be tonally serious with the usual comedy that doesn't detract from the story but more so enhances it
plus he's stated that he is emphasizing the DCU to have strong writing and really loves the script he did for Legacy and has shown it to others and they all seem to love it as well
I don't like how this sounds.
Cavills wasn't even dark and gritty

i just hope it isn't too much on the "don't worry guys superman is bright happy perfect man with a giant crush on lois lane haha here's the john williams theme yall love that don't you? remember that?"
Have you seen any Gunn films???
ive liked all of them i've seen except for guardians 2. i think he lost control in the third act of that one. too many tension cutting jokes.

oh nah yeah I feel you on that. It definitely won't be a Snyder Superman look. But it will be a hero that is aware of who he is and what he can be, but has trouble defining what his legacy is to House El and to the Kents. The interal struggle of finding himself but still remaining the upbeat person he naturally is.
Gunn is typically good at establishing tone for when things need to be serious and for when things can be light

Gunn ALWAYS writes his characters with flaws and trauma
I can’t think of any of his films or shows that have “perfect characters”

If you wanna see d*** riding look at any post regarding Zack Snyder’s DCU
Yeah a movie that sacrificed being a poignant straightforward noir crime tale about overcoming vengeance out of trauma - to include a whole slapped on fourth act with a city destruction action finale, sequel teasing and a Joker cameo is not a capeshit popcorn flick
I really hated zero year was just thrown in there like that, such a waste

its jus comic book movies fans in general
they was saying guardians of the galaxy 3 is the saddest movie of all time
I like Zack Snyder and James Gunn. Wow that wasn’t so hard to say.

I like Zack Snyder and James Gunn. Wow that wasn’t so hard to say.
I dislike both but respect Zack's passion . Wow that isn't so hard to say
Zack still hasnt had his magnum opus his fans make excuses for him. He gaslights them for countless years. He makes cool music videos in movie form. Great trailers but whenever I hear he was involved in the writing process I know we are getting some esoteric bullshit that his fans will act like its a coded message from God himself
But he isn't as bad as James Gunn who jokes about f***ing children so
