    I feel you.

I’m quite tempted to make the leap though… how is it working for you? Would you ever go back?

PSP Go (with a 8GB Memory Card) has roughly 24GB worth of storage, so i have my music library which i have accumulated throughout my life stored on there with wired headphones of course to complete the aesthetic

You’ve accumulated less than 24 gigs of music throughout your whole life?

I only got 24GB available at the moment on my psp go with 16GB internal storage and a 8GB external storage via a Memory Stick Micro, I have a bunch of other music I could put on there and endless CDs in my possession i could also rip and put on there but it's full up right now, so i got to delete things to put more things on there pause

the real goal is to build up a level of discipline to where owning one won't be your downfall

they make the layout addictive by design and with someone with a condition that is related to dopamine deficiency, I know it's going to be a determent to be daily functioning. I hope one day I can use one as you mentioned where it's designed to encourage disciplined usage.

I would love to do this but I need my banking, gps, email and music apps lol

Banking and Email i do on my laptop.

with a GPS you could get a Garmin GPS unit as they do not need a smartphone. You can use them without one and have 90% of all the features. Traffic is the only one that requires a smartphone.

As for music I have my personal library.

I understand it's a massive inconvenience as a smart phone can do this all in one sweep, however it is possible if one wishes to be free from the choke hold of contemporary digital devices and the overwhelming presence of the internet.

Would you ever consider going back? Do you ever get that itch? Or do you feel like you’ve finally “broken free”?

You niggas need at least 15 years off a smartphone to really tap into anything real

    What about new music releases?

CDs for me as I love collecting them.

Digital downloads are available in various methods some claim to be natural (had to sneak a darth sidious reference there).

I have seen a growing anti-streaming sentiment and i believe purchasing music will persist.

Would you ever consider going back?

I want to see right now how long I can go without it pause. As I mentioned I destroyed my two smartphones so right now if i want one i would have to buy one and seeing my impulsive spending habits are focused on other things I can see this continuing for a long while.

Do you ever get that itch?

In short: no. I have got rid of every social media account bar reddit as i use that more as a tool and interacting with niche communities that tickle my interest. KTT2 is also something i still love to use, however i have to use my laptop to access these and i leave it in my house if i'm out,as i don't need it for anything essential besides email, banking, and hanging out on here.

Or do you feel like you’ve finally “broken free”?

I have less intrusive thoughts and there is a newfound feeling of freedom so i do believe I have "broken free" right now. I have to admit the first 10 days or so were very depressing and agitating as it was like i was going cold turkey from an addiction, but now those temptations have depleted over time. I have used a smartphone everyday since I received my iPhone 4s in 2013, therefore it's quite something to abstain from something I have used for the majority of my adult life.

it's been amazing. kinda started when my wife was pregnant but I also didn't wanna have my phone on me while at home so I could read. write, watch without any distraction so we got walkie talkies and I was like damn this is amazing.

I think it would be a tough sell to convince be to go back to a phone as big as my face whose sole purpose is to advertise to me
