Something tells me if someone associates with white supremacists and espouses rhetoric alluding to a time when blacks had minimal rights as "great" and has trumps reputation as a businessman then im not going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Nationalism doesn't have to mean supremacy as much as it does primarily promoting the interests of a national collective at its forefront. While it has most commonly been interpreted in racist ways of course, I think it's disingenuous to say it can't function without racism. Nationalism doesn't have to mean violently exclusionary policies, it can also manifest in forms of sovereignty, self-determination, or cultural renaissance/identity. Would you say that anti-imperalist nationallism is racist for example?
