because people don't have loyalty to bernie, they have loyalty to the values he had and policies he envisioned. his endorsement means nothing

Your logic doesn't really check out. His policies aren't going to be propogated by Trump. I assure you Bernie understands this. There's a clear young, progressive wave at the moment and Biden's emphasised he's aware of this and willing to work with them. You're asking for instant reward on your policies and Bernie's asking for patience and to take the best step you can currently in advancing that movement.

Why does your loyalty to Bernie not extend to his endorsement?

I'm not loyal to Bernie lol. This isn't a cult

Don't think I can spell it out any clearer it's on you if you're too thick to see how voting republican is usually against the greater good. Republicans benefit from voter apathy. Part of the reason they're suing CA over mail in ballots for everyone

And given you're not supporting the Democratic platform, I would be intrigued as to how you deem support for Bernie, that stops short of voting for Biden, as anything other than loyalty to Bernie.

And before you say you're in support of those policies not the person, I'll be the first to tell you that's the same thing.

Biden doesn't support the same policies as Bernie, whose already a compromise for me, thus I won't support biden

In what way is Bernie a compromise for you?

Failing to understand how supporting the furthest left candidate could be a compromise in any sense of the word.

Right.. well that is not a compromise. Your favoured policy goals and ideas don't have any major representation.

And unsurprisingly so if you don't vote. That would be reaching an actual compromise.

What you're doing is called self-sabotage and making it harder to drum up support and make a progressive platform feasible.

you tell me my logic doesn't check out, but you're just blabbering nonsense. biden will not support any ""progressive"" movement, he's saying that because he knows that people who swing left will not be voting for him come election time. you think the same dude who remarked "The younger generation now tells me how tough things are—give me a break ... No, no, I have no empathy for it, give me a break", is going to have even anything close to a platform with leftist policies?

also, instant reward? this country has been mired by corruption and financial (now corporate) interests for centuries. voting for a diet republican does nothing. i'm sick of people who just started caring about politics in 2016 try to guilt-trip people, who want actual change, to vote for their s*** candidate who can barely f***ing talk.

You do you man. You've made up your mind clearly. But know you're a hypocrite for claiming to want change. More self-sabotage, more pushing back the progressive agenda from their own so called supporters. The irony.

last time I'm quoting your ass because I know that you know that if every person in America voted, Republicans would get washed. Therefore, less people voting (especially someone like you who would have otherwise voted dem) is good for them. I know you're smart, why you choose to get caught up in semantics/play dumb is beyond me.

Turnout being low + he gets hispanic votes in areas that matter. Also gets white votes in areas that matter.

He’d probably have to get close to if not over 50% of Hispanics to offset white losses at that scale. There are still over five times as many eligible white voters as Hispanic and their turnout is always higher. If he went from 58% to 50% with white voters (67% of eligible voters) but went from 28% to 50% with Hispanics (13% of eligible voters), assuming turnout is proportional to eligible voters, he would lose 5% from whites and gains 3% from Hispanics— and the popular vote is already stacked against him.

Additionally, Hispanics are rarer in the key Rust Belt states he needs to maintain to win. (Cali, Texas, Florida, New York, and Arizona are not opportunities for GOP flips. Nevada or New Mexico, possibly.)

Lower Black turnout and the vagaries of the electoral college will help him, but only if the contest is close. Losing any more of the popular vote, especially if the gains come in states not on the table, could easily push it out of the “close” range.

I do think it’s possible that he’s mostly bleeding white voters in states he already has no chance of winning, but the margins are so close in the Rust Belt, it won’t take much to flip them.

You call voting for the most progressive candidate in a lifetime, with any legitimacy, a 'compromise'. Good luck seeing a strong socialist movement emerge any time soon with that attitude.

nah he doesnt need 50% overall. Just enough in texas and florida to keep both. Then maintain enough white support in the rustbelt and he's fine.
