Gnx should not be seen in the same light as damn or gkmc

I enjoy west coast music far more than I do pop-rap

I’ll take GNX over DAMN every day of the week

21:00 Drake stans thought this concept was deep too

It doesn’t even line up if you look at the tracklist.

I agree. Look at their peers Drake (Views) and J Cole’s (4YEO) attempts at making concept albums

    Views is a classic.

To the extent Kendrick and Kanye killed the genre, it would primarily be due to the fact they brought a bunch of indie rock hipsters and pop heads into hip hop and now we have to listen to you all b**** and moan constantly, acting like experts despite secretly having the utmost disdain for the genre and culture

There were always those people into hip hop, going back to the 80s. Just different generations of the same “hipsters”. But by the early 2010s it was more so the internet bringing those fans and less about singular artists. They just latch on to certain rappers,

The blog era played a big role too, so did tumblr and the fashion scenes of that time

ktt changed on her so quickly smh

She lowkey changed half of her fanbase with that anxiety track and feature with Jennie. Hopefully she stays true with this ep's style moving forward. She had a great feature with Westside Gunn

It's been a bunch of creative hip-hop albums that have overarching themes/concepts throughout the project since 2015.

S*** these are just quick examples, some of these artists have released other creative projects outside of these

Ramona is one of favorite albums that dropped this decade, really underappreciated along with self titled

I feel like before then it was kind of an arms race among the good rap artists to make the dopest most creative album mfs could muster. Then s*** like MBDTF, GKMC, Yeezus, and TPAB dropped and mfs just collectively went "we can't top this s***, lets just make trap, pop rap, and dusty coke rap" and critics all collectively went "nothing will ever be better than this, everything is a 5/10"

Idk man Im at work, its early, and rap is boooring rn

Assuming that's true why would you blame the creators rather than the people who refuse to try
