@LilTumor Would you consider yourself Kinky ?
F*** kind of post is this? Reported like deadass
Like I’ve been saying the whole thread
I think they’re just lying when they say those artists are a major influence lol
But what would Big Boi gain from lying about having Kate Bush as one of his favorite musicians growing up?
Some artists just love another artist’s music man, they don’t have to make music that sounds like that artist to validate it

I don’t think that was a lie
Saying that was one of his favorites growing up ain’t that crazy
I think making trap music the most popular rap music killed creativity in hip hop
bra dont ask that nigga about views he literally is obessed with hating drake
i've got two users fighting for my soul now
This just one example. This obviously not a summer song but it’s in the middle of the “summer” stretch of the album (controlla through summers over)
!https://youtu.be/OJu4kkAbxHQ?si=79r4ggkdXZHLztoqits crazy how much of a time capsule this s*** is damn
“Can’t have an opinion on professional basketball unless you’ve played professional basketball yourself” level take
why would i ever listen to a nigga who cant play the game of basketball talk about basketball bra this is completely unrelated to views
Most niggas that play video games have never made a video game
Most niggas that read books have never written and published a book
That whole “you can’t speak on something unless you’ve done it yourself” concept is ass backwards
i feel like most people that make something understand video games in a different way
i have never been mad at rockstar for taking this long cause i know how it feels to have to top perfection
“This is my favorite artist of all time”
“So if they’re your favorite oat why don’t you take any musical influences or make any music like them?”
“Because…”
You're thinking far too linear, its art there's no set guidelines.
Like Fader said if my favorite artist is Whitney Houston because her great vocals, and she inspired me to make music, but my talents are geared more towards rap, you might not see any direct influences.
Also as Free Youngboy said with Uzi, one of his favorite is Manson but his music doesnt sound like his. But uzi took the energy, vibe and aesthetic from Manson and applied it to his music with his other direct musical influence to get the music he makes
The reward for his effort
https://twitter.com/lovequeenbee/status/1974914998054056266No ones topping Woodstock 99 man, idc. I wish that event didn't have so much tragedy though
I think making trap music the most popular rap music killed creativity in hip hop
Everyone will start crying but this is a major one ^
kendrick is a stretch lol, not saying there is no inpiration but he doesn't even put that much emphasis on complex rhymes like that lmao... nicki I can see, kendrick is mostly influenced by wayne and andre
but for eminem as a whole he didn't really create a wave, he was too uniquely skilled and charismatic in what he did to influence hip-hop in a way that was easily replicable
late to this but kendrick’s rhyme schemes are bonkers lmao, that’s like his most obvious Eminemism especially pre-TPAB
The reward for his effort
https://twitter.com/lovequeenbee/status/1974914998054056266I love it but TPAB is the greatest Hip-Hop album of all time for me
Fair it's an incredible album
Yeah but are you going in interviews saying she’s your all time favorite + biggest influence?
yes
Views not being a classic
But but it’s music that sounds good and is replayable. We can’t have that. It needs distorted sounds or some jazz instrumentals to be labeled a classic

Ronny!
It’s about that time to get back to more ambitious instrumentation in hiphop with a wider time-spanning range of influence. More diverse sounds and styles; the trap influenced s*** is cool and we’re getting new subgenres out of that but the homogeneity atm is just not healthy for the genre. You don’t get TPAB with that, you don’t get Blueprint with that, you don’t get…you know what I’m saying
The younger cats gotta step it up. And I mean any of you niggas born 1997 or later
