Honestly, this track was a hot mess and really hurt the momentum of Push Ups.
His rhyming was more basic compared to the prior diss and he didn't even sound like Pac/Snoop outside of the filter.
Kendrick not responding right away made a lot of niggas here declare Drake the "winner" of the beef. In fact, I remember the beef thread titled "Drake won" during that time.
But, after Kendrick responded, this diss aged as bad as The Heart Pt. 6.
Pac's estate coming after him hurt the momentum too.
drake was up when this dropped, anyone denying that is just lying
You're in denial this s*** was instantly panned
Song is still fire to me. He did what he needed to do which is go hard on everyone that went at him.
I love the OG a lot more though
EDIT: Wait this is Taylor Made not Push Ups Lmfaooooo nah this s*** is ass
this was a good move by Drake, it was confusing cause it was new and different
i personally liked it and he had that pressure on Dot early, he made that nigga spit for 6 minutes angry
I’ll never get the “made it age badly” thing. Such a confusing concept to me
Losing and rebuttals just don’t make tracks age different for me. This is still an all timer. All the songs of this battle are all timers, this is the battle of all time. The top 5 diss songs of all time are all from this battle
Top 5 diss songs of all time ??? Come on dog
why do you believe this?
this is same guy that said 7 minute drill is the reason he studies flows for a living
nothing he says is believable
Drake took a bigger gamble here than he had with his music for the longest so I appreciate it for that (as well as the beat)
Obviously it backfired on him, but at the time it felt like he was holding his own.

This. Besides him using his own flow with Pac and Snoop’s voice, I found it be a brilliant strategic IG drop at the time.
I appreciated Drake trying to keep his foot on my goat’s neck. Even if it came back to haunt Drake, doesn’t take away the feeling we all had that Friday night when it seemed the odds were stacked against Dot.
I’m not with the revisionist history.

"While we wait on you I guess."
Classic. Thanks for posting this. I think it’s important to preserve the history of the captions and how these songs were dropped down to those little details

Meet the Grahams is the only one that doesn’t make my list because I felt like the pusha T “influence/biting” was a little much imo. I get learning from his strategy but I didn’t want to hear him try to emulate push’s flow and delivery like that. “We got story of Adidon at home”
the ai s*** was and still is corny but his actual verse at the end is pretty good. it obviously didn’t age well, he shoulda dropped At The Gates instead since it’s a kendrick diss and a hit at the same time

my favorite part of all of this is drake tryna say kendrick snitched on him to the 2pac estate
like he not the biggest rapper of all time and they wouldn’t have seen it anyway like wtf
How do people come up with this fan fiction?
It’s always funny to me how people can’t grasp the concept of reading between the lines and making informed theories on how things unfold. The Kendrick June release date was widely reported after Like That. And the pattern of Kendrick’s previous 3 albums show what happens usually. Disses on features to get buz then drop the album
It’s like he needs tension just to get attention. If he wasn’t dissing then we wouldn’t be discussing him. Still the realest lines of the battle
