Never forget that Kendrick’s album was supposed to drop in June. He planned on just doing like that as promo and dropping an album, the same usual routine of tough talk on a feature to promote an album about saving the world. But Drake held him to the fire and said nah not this time. That is the sole reason that we got the rest of the battle and gnx. Drake calling him out and making him follow through didn’t age poorly. Drake forced Kendrick’s hand and UMG stepped in to help
How do people come up with this fan fiction?
I really just think the concept of things “aging poorly” is cope for people to say things are bad but they know damn well it’s good,
I just gave you two examples of how the lyrics aged poorly, and that’s just from the first verse. Trash talk/being cocky ages poorly if you end up losing. This is basic human s*** that we all understand. Especially when you sarcastically tell the guy to beat you exactly the way he ended up beating you. but for whatever reason you’re trying to give Drake a participation trophy.
When Klay Thompson said that s*** about LeBron in 2016 people laughed in the moment and then it aged like s*** when they lost. Nobody says it didn’t age bad and it was a great moment because it lit a fire under LeBron. That’s stupid af.
Also that second point is just a silly assumption with no type of evidence to back it up. Not even worth responding to it fr.
Doesn't make the song not good though
This song was too prophetic
lyrics aged so bad
Doesn't make the song not good though
Do you really think this is a good song?
How is it confusing?
Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior
Engraving your name in some hip-hop history
If you deal with this viciouslyF*** this Canadian lightskin, Dot
We need a no-debated West Coast victory, man
Call him a b**** for me
Talk about him likin' young girls, that's a gift from me
He was on some cocky s*** and accidentally predicted his demise in the beef.
And that’s not even getting into the fact that the whole premise of the song is that Kendrick was scared to drop that day because Taylor swift owns him or controls his release schedule or whatever when that was obviously just projection on Drakes part. That whole angle was stupid af looking back at it
Diss tracks don’t exist in a vacuum. Just cause the song was nice when it came out doesn’t mean it’s always gonna be good
Nah he got him with the west coast savior s***
Dork really had a fake pac interview on his album
Ppaaaac paaaaac
The concept on paper was brilliant, execution is subjective but I thought it was hilarious. The “Nephew!” by Snoop kills me every time
Do you really think this is a good song?
Yep I thought it was fun and creative. I can undershow people thought it was distasteful though.
I also think Drakes point about kendrick taking too long to drop was a bad point. But despite that I still liked the song as a piece of novelty
lmfao hindsight is always the funniest
Punch and Curtis revealing in that interview that Kendrick and TDE used to rap like other rappers all the time for fun so when a rap battle was brought up they was like
“he gone battle the nigga who build entire songs in his head and raps like other rappers for fun with the homies???”
you try to point some s*** out to niggas before it happens and they don’t believe it so here’s niggas who grew up with them letting you know that nigga Drake shouldn’t have tried it and really never stood a chance lol
It was the 90s, many people had specific albums and radio freestyles they loved, Big L was mine, and what the hell are you blabbering about I don’t care and won’t pretend to know what music Kendrick would make and why, keep that parasocial s*** to yourself
🎯🎯🎯
let them niggas make what they want! we just criticizing the quality king. idk why that be hard to understand, we not in the studio with these niggas
@2words went in
I’ll get the aged bad and he lost out the way but song did what it was supposed to do and pissed Kendrick off. Was super creative and bold so I’ll always respect that
“talk about him liking young girls, that’s a gift from me” then sues when he listens to him
Never got thru the entire song and I’m proud of that. First verse was so bad I had to turn it off
Was genuinely happy asf when Pac’s estate stepped in and shut the gee sht down
Was hard being a Kenny fan when this dropped, I knew Kendrick would wash him but I was falling for the
the narratives of “why is it taking you so long”
Drake stans was on my ass
Remember when Akademiks kept doing that countdown?
