  • The last time I heard them in the news it was about them getting boo'd off stage for flashing their a****** to the crowd or something. They were opening for Swedish House Mafia in NY I believe.

    idk I'm a casual fan I haven't heard his newer stuff but Noid I hold very close to me and Gospel for a New Century is like a definitive song of the 2020s imo

    forgetting what i heard from people personally around the guy, what he does in public, on stage, and in camera is enough for me to sadly believe this s*** is true.

    a lot of these people are weird and stumbled onto success thanks to internet and it's unique way of connecting others. these people get label advances, fame, and access to places and people they would have never had access to normally. it cultivates a strange and unique entitlement. some handle / hide it better than others

    im not going to call a male abuser a victim by any stretch, but if the rumors I've personally heard are true, hes a full blown addict that was probably already struggling before the warp deal with whatever interpersonal s*** he got going on, like the rest of us. was just able to mask it with a music career and ability to curate commercial art for echo park and bushwick freaks. I'll always love this warp and PAN material, but have no interest in engaging with his work much further tbh

    not even as a principled stance, I just don't believe his engineers and producers can carry him much further than the territory he has already explored, on top of not really wanting to support the guy

    its interesting youre phrasing this as 'masking' ones d*** addiction which is crazy talk youd get fried for in any other situation esp as it relates to people struggling with it trying to hold their life together in spite of it

    but there are allegations against bro so i guess all that is out the window just like someone said about his non binary thing

  • when I saw him live like 7 years ago he was honestly v unlikable diva on stage, picking fights w the sound guy and also stepping on a fan in first row's head w his big leather boots (the fan was actually into it I think tho lmao)

    another artist friend of mine has been hating him w a passion too and that's one of the most chill ppl I know so I kinda had a feel something was up although I didn't rly know details from that situation

    definitely a major talent, especially the early ambient stuff is some of my fav modern music ngl. sad story all around

    I mean, sure, but most artists hate the industry as much as you or I do. I've met a ton of artists that are moderately successful too but just don't give a s*** about all of that and they're some of the sweetest ppl I know
