Stay unpretentious and curious 💖
Your music is great too, I listen to Collapse and Bloom a lot
You know what's weird i wouldn't call Gorillaz my favorite but they're probably the most fun I've had interacting with a band
parliament-funkadelic
hendrix experience/band of gypsies
cocteau twins
sly n the family stone
radiohead
ohio players
A funk bro
Damn, I forgot all about The Sea and Cake.
This band is so talented. To mix Afrobeat in a very organic way is impressive. John McEntire is so great, you can hear his contribution to Stereolab

A compliment to their audiovisual, interactive experience. Creative stuff

To mix that with Boss Nova and post-rock in such a fresh and seamless way always blows me away and soothes my soul
You absolutely can.

That and just in general interaction. When they reply to people on YouTube and Twitter as the characters and do all sorts of stuff just to get in contact with the fans to make them feel more real is just cool to me
Damn, I forgot all about The Sea and Cake.
Aesthetics seriously off the charts with this band and its sound.
idk nowadays prob some basic s***
beach house and arcade fire are too easy ones that come to mind
havent seen as much pixies love as i expected

Electronica, boss nova, Afrobeat and New Wave and it worked so, so well. They kept the core sound despite band mates shifting, which I imagine is so difficult to do. Really great
Smiths up there as well
got into a debate about the smiths vs. the cure with my dad a few years ago. that s*** became passionate and long winded real quick lol

You also have to understand top 5 bands are immensely tough. I had to pick between both English and Japanese bands
