what Thug really said was Metro didn’t wanna bother with discussions about clearing it because his mom had just been murdered. but even if Metro wasn’t still grieving, he wouldn’t have cleared it for Drake anyways, because he wanted to keep that song for his album, as he had every right to do. he just didn’t wanna deal with any music business bullshit at the time because his mother had just been killed.
@JadoreKing took that & interpreted it as “Metro didn’t even care about his mom, he just used her death as an excuse to hate on Drake”, which is a borderline psychopath way to interpret this.
I never said or implied the stupid s*** you put my name in... I just said it was an easy way out for Metro in the first place.... Metro had BEEN HATING on Drake Before his Mother Passed.

IMO You’re right it’s reasonable for Drake to ask, he wasn’t saying get to work like ppl on Twitter claiming, just clear the song it’s ready to go. Metro just didn’t want him on the song/to have the song, nothing you can do about that.
Usually Metro might have had to listen to what Drake / Thug say in terms of clearing things but he was also going through serious stuff and shouldn’t have had to explain himself considering the circumstances. From the calls it felt like Thug understood both sides, knew Drake was being genuine, knew Metro wasn’t changing it regardless.
It is what it is, honestly as an individual situation it isn’t deep at all. Metro was doing interviews after explaining that he just liked the song as it is. I think the whole Drake / Metro beef is probably the accumulation of little moments like these.
