I knew labels invested in AI, and I don’t mind stem splitting, but i figured artists would push back on AI vocals, but they seem to be all in as well.
Wonder how much more we can expect on thugs album
with AI stem splitting, that’s cool if you don’t have contact with the original artist & just wanna clear a sample or something
but if you’re using it because you want to use an old verse as a feature, CONTACT THEIR ENGINEER AND GET THE STEMS. DONT BE LAZY.
at least Carti did wind up updating MUSIC and got the actual stems for the Thug feature in the end

the “feature” is credited to Nick Hustles & DJYachtMaster, who both do AI music
unsure if Thug is aware it’s AI though, but London def knew
Should be cut tbh that part ruins the song anyway

people complained about Drake using AI voice swapping to do 2Pac and Snoop Dogg verses on Taylor Made, but BBL Drizzy (a song using an AI sample) was a hit
i think the line is that general public arent being aware of most of AI things so they are slowly getting accepted sadly
Like maybe in some months the Carti thing gets bigger but people will just say, the song fire...
and thats just another line broken...

The way Eminem used AI on TDOSS was cool to me too. I think it depends on how it’s being used. I found V2’s use of AI extremely LAZY. Having someone do ref vocals and putting an AI filter and calling it your own music is just stupid IMO
But Drake using it for PACs voice was pretty creative and Eminem using it to emulate his old voice was also fire

Carti did record some background vocals himself, which tricked people in the studio into thinking that was Carti’s vocals the whole time

Damn that sucks. It would've been cool/funny if they just used Thug's voice for the AI. It already sounds similar to his voice a little bit on some inflections
