True and blb was live couple weeks ago still saying thug is dropping punk as next project and after that going on Wayne streak when he was the hottest rapper out here so its still the plan to drop it
This ya king?

Your point?
That it’s irrelevant. He has tons of lyrics in his songs that stand on the side of BLM. He has obviously matured since that interview.
I mean tbh its not a rapper's place to speak on social issues they regular niggas just like us they just able to rap. Doesn't necessarily mean you smart, just look at TI lmao.
But Thug has a Trayvon Martin Tribute song and he's extremely anti cop if you actually listen to him

So regular niggas shouldn't speak about it when they go through it every day? Who should speak about it then?

This ain’t it lol. anyone that has a platform should use it during this dark, dark timeline we’re all a part of

Nah thats not what im saying. I probably could've used better wording, didnt mean "not their place" as they shouldn't but not required to. Some people aren't as articulate as others and may not be feel able to get their point across in words as they'd like to (me in the last post apparently lol).
Rappers should be encouraged to speak, but we shouldn't be crucifying dudes who dont make a statement.
Honestly this comes from my feeling that people hold celebs on too high of a pedestal and not listening/paying attention to people out in the fields actually protesting. (Yeah i know some rappers are in the fields and i salute and respect them) But I feel like we should be looking to community organizers and activists who dedicated their lives to trying to solve problems.
Hope I got that across alright

If you have a platform and care about the issue then 100% you should be using it to spread your message.
I feel like a lot of people just doing it for internet clout and dont really care and at that point i'd rather u keep ur fake support to yourself.
Like this record label blackout for support is bs, their business model in exploiting black communities, i don't want that fake love

I get the idea but i've noticed that articulation is never the issue.
Half the people who think they are smart have spoken and proved themselves to be a chief cooon.
Any one whether smart or dumb or speaking from logic or emotion can discuss and speak on things from theirs or others experiences.
But 100% I agree people demanding celebs and brands to speak is weird it should be organic we should all just remember what was said or not said

Yeah you're right, when it comes to actually making the point if you have knowledge/experience with the topic you're probably good speaking on it.
Was more trying to say some people may feel that they themselves can't articulate their point in the way they'd like to, so they'd rather stay silent then have thousands of people attacking them on social media because they misspoke and I don't blame them for that

Very true considering how people are waiting to start a cancel trend in your name but not sure if trying the PR route trying to be neutral works in such serious situations.
If asked being quiet in politics for example sure makes sense...but not something that affects you, your family, your fans and all the cultures you are a member of.

Yeah good point. At that point a canned response probably the best way. You risk coming off disingenuous but it shouldn't come off that way if you're actually a part of the community.

anyone profiting off black culture has a responsibility to speak up about injustices against black people
