This is easily his most diverse album from a content standpoint.
He has no complete body of work covering depression, family issues as a child/now, relationship problems, views on society and the world
I actually heard Pluto on a hook singing about Jim Crow
Given all his music from ICFN, SS/RG (leaks), Jeffery, BTGs, SS, SMF
This is easily his most experimental project. Nobody can ever tell me, “his music good but he ain’t saying nothing” again.
I’m going to tel them you didn’t listen to PUNK.
Yeah I'll give u that there's defintely more diversity and broadening of subject matter but that doesn't really make this album experimental lol
And to @REACTIVE no that doesn't mean just rapping on weird beats

When you apply context it does
One of the biggest criticisms of Young Thug’s art to date, is his content lacked substance
All of his accolades are rooted in his unique flows, ad-libs, aesthetic, and eye for talent.
I applaud him for sharing that (he was aware of the criticism) with Elliott during the 2019 interview, after his conversation with Jay-Z.
What’s more impressive is his follow through on delivering with this album. The only album you can compare PUNK to is BTGs and that’s on BPM alone.
For Young Thug, this is experimental. I doubt we get another PUNK album from him again.

You can consider this as different or experimental for him but to call the album as a whole an experimental album is like me calling Kod experimental cause cole doesn't usually rap on trap beats.

Production and content are two criteria where musicians are graded.
When he was working with producers to curate “country trap production” it was considered experimental
He went totally left with his content for the first time in 10 years
That’s legitimately experimental. Might even be textbook.
What’s your top 3
Die Slow
Contagious
Yea Yea Yea
Faces and Peepin Out The Window could be in there too. Idk yet tbh all I know is Die Slow is his best song

Yes he experimented with the content but the content isn't anything unique or drastically different in the rap scene at all or even compared to his peers. Seems like the content just matured. Even then the content isn't matured for the whole album, just some songs.
No need to call it an experimental album just cause he added more substance

No one’s saying this is some experimental album that’s gonna reinvent the music industry, we’ve been saying this is experimental for YOUNG THUG
Context is everything, and different sounds and styles can be experimental for different artists

Yup.
I said that two posts up, you’ve got to apply context.

People have been calling it an experimental album tho not just for thug and saying it's something completely different from the scene

I think a few of the acoustic-only songs are different from the scene because there aren’t any mainstream trap artists right now making songs without drums

Poor choice of words and a lazy critique confusing transformational and experimental
For young thug this IS an experimental album.. However, this album isn’t a game changer by any stretch
IMO, B6 is a transformational album.
