Oct 15, 2021SignifireI disagree this s*** kinda flies by. Also disagree with it not being what he described in the Complex interview. Wasn’t exactly what I expected but I mean, lots of story-telling and most of the songs are more fleshed out than a lot of his previous work. The energy just isn’t necessarily always there. But this is still easily one of the best albums of the year.
Def gonna give it some more plays and more will reveal itself probably. But I feel like I really made sure to put a focus on the lyrics for the listen, and after like the first 6 joints and a couple more towards the end I didn't hear all that much storytelling or feel like the album was "all centered around one point." It was just Thug talking about the s*** he normally does. Nothing wrong with that just not what I expected when I probably should've. Lol
