This film's premise is a perfect example of what I would call a narrative lose lose.
Engaging when you don't know what's going on. Unsatisfying when you do. Ultimately... the ending felt... inevitable.
The only best ending atp is reviving don like she promised and making him an alien leader
I think the ending kinda negates the film from having any message at all though
yeah I was thinking the deeper meaning was all these losers and their conspiracy theories, especially how he was raped by his babysitter , all that trauma and being chronically online to form such a claim about aliens. But for her to actually be an alien.. like damn what was the point of everything lol 👽 💀
Insane acting on display but I really didnt care for almost any of it especially compared to the original Korean movie I watched earlier this week. I remember reading somewhere that Yorgos feels kinda burnt out on filmmaking lately, so it tracks for me here. Last 3-4 mins were nice tho
Watched for the first time last night
Might be one of my favorites this year, pissed I didn't catch in theatres

That would have been great. Just finished watching it now.
My thoughts on your questions:
1) he killed himself to get transported into space. Plemons character also brought a gun to blow his brains out but his bomb went off before he could do it. Judging from how he was right about everything else I’d assume this was also the right way. 2) Didn’t Emma Stone character say they weren’t trying to kill humanity humans are doing that themselves, they were trying to save it. Then in space she gave up on them
I could’ve misinterpreted tho I just finished watching and haven’t sat with it much yet
Ironically Jesse character actions actually f***ed everybody
andromedans just being some adjacent hippy knitwear wearing race
they explain why in this vid lol

u a better writer than whoever adapted this
Incredible, insane, intense, dark, and funny all at the same time. Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons bodied their roles and I'm convinced they are two of the best actors working right now
This probably would have hit harder if Twitter and my coworker didn't spoil this for me...
Just watched it, good movie
Just watched this. im shocked he was actually right lmao. Down to the hair. I think the movie would have ended way more strongly if it ended right when she went in the closet, leaving us with the question of was he right or if this was just a social commentary. I also think the alien depiction was a little corny with how they portrayed it. But overall I definitely enjoyed it
Loved this, definitely Top 3 Yorgos. Tied with Eddington for best thing I saw this year
