So excited for this and I’m not really that big on Yorgos. Just visually it immediately hooked me and the content they’re describing in combination with the aesthetics makes me feel like we’re gonna get a different spin on a Peter Greenaway type film.

Puts it next to Nomadland, Joker, Roma, Shape of Water as recent winners that were huge award season presences. Yorgos and Emma got one

I’d love for the box office to be somewhere between The Favourite (95m) and shape of water (195m) . The movie going box office is a different place post covid & there’s no actor promotion because of the strike but I cope/hope that this movie finds a grown up audience and becomes a bit of a moment

Edit: Shape of Water and Nomadland also came from the same studio and went on to win best picture they must run that Oscar campaign like the navy

How “accessible” would you say it is? Like to a general movie goer?

it’s doesn’t have deadpan dialogue like The Lobster or Killing of a Sacred Deer which was off-putting for a lot of people. Pretty much every scene has some kind of comedy in it, definitely Yorgos most accessible film so far. But it also has a LOT of s***in it, which may turn some people away

What are the s***scenes like?

they all involve Emma and none of them are “sexy” per se because her character behaves like a child. A lot of them are pretty funny but at the same time essential to the plot
