On second watch this is the greatest movie of all-time not really but I think it’s comfortably in my top 5 of the year so far.

Imagine walking out of this at the theatre because of ???? I don’t even know why people are mad , because the dialogue is atypical ?

This was like if Yorgos got to make 3 episodes of Black Mirror with free reign. I liked it but Yorgos is one of my favorite working directors so I’m biased

The first part was peak, most people liked at least the first part. I’m wondering if you’ve never seen a Lanthimos if you hated it this much lol

3 was so much worse than the other parts. A huge snoozefest without any satisfying conclusion

First reaction was I really liked what I saw but didn’t understand it. Then later in the weekend I heard “sweet dreams” and it all made sense

You got it right! This was my first YL movie, and even then it's because it seemed like the most normal movie he's made based on trailer

Honestly idk man, Part 1 was okay at best and 2 was horrible imo. I just don't get his movies

nah 2 was the funniest to me, 3 had an interesting premise but Emma's character wasnt super interesting

I just didn’t understand what was going on in 2. She came back from the island but he turned into the dog alien? Or he was tricking her to comply because when she died his real wife would come home?

3 to me was the most funny. Besides the rape

to me in the second story Jesse Plemon’s character is mentally unstable, when his wife tells her doctor that he hit her we’re supposed to think she’s lying but I think that’s what actually happened. Plus the thing where after he shoots that guy in the hand at the police stop he starts licking his wound. At the end I don’t think there’s a second Liz and it’s just in his head

But why does she comply to chopping body parts, shoes don’t fit, and eats chocolate now. Even his friends stated she didn’t eat chocolate. There were also flashbacks implying she went cannibal to survive the island

I don’t think it was another person, part 2 felt completely symbolic to me

But this was not it.

But what was going on with her? She came back different and they hinted at cannibalism

when she tells her dad the dream about dogs ruling and her being forced to eat chocolate she ends the story saying it’s better to rely on something consistently available rather than something that depletes each day and compares it to her husband not being perfect. She accepts the chocolate while he refuses to eat anything she cooks for him which can be seen as her accepting him but him not accepting her. I don’t have an answer for the shoes not fitting part but I don’t think everything in this story is supposed to be taken as literal
