American Patriotyou think the normal minority experience in America is regular violence? Just everyone from Indian IT students to Jews in the Eastside suburbs of Cleveland to Black guys in Pittsburgh is just regular, day to day violence? And because of that, everyone, everywhere, needs to not only passively accept, but openly endorse, violence everywhere? Like thats just the fair thing to do?
he probably was more so referring to how if you’re a minority in this country, violence becomes an option due to the constant oppression and ontological threat to your existence to your being just by virtue of living in a white majority country that was partially built off of the backs and blood of slaves
has nothing to do with whether or not violence is a “regular experience” of the average minority (and it can be argued that minorities in general have more exposure towards violence just off the strength of typically coming from dangerous, impoverished areas that can feed into a blasè attitude towards violence, but that’s neither here nor there)
