@blissfulusername @sfsorrow How about you discuss how Frank is overrated?
it's pointless
KTT2 the Frank Ocean temple
OP a real 1
but he'll get crucified by the LGBT & Vans community any second now
he's a decent artist. i hate how he has been set as a benchmark of great artistry.
what he does is good, but nothing mind blowing.
respectable
I only mentioned his abilities as an r&b artist. You can block him if you want
I feel like classic R&B lovers will put a voice over songs, which is fine and I understand. Channel Orange is well executed contemporary R&B. Simply put, Tiller, CB, and ESPECIALLY Jacquees are not good at crafting songs at all. When they get a hit it’s always off the strength of the vocal performance or how well done the beat is. There’s little actual songwriting, and when they do venture into these territories like Tiller on his last album, a lot of the time the s*** is boring, and his few hits are mostly the beats (Don’t, Rambo, 502 Come Up) Frank presents a unique and well executed approach, whether you like the more abstract work he’s made in recent years or not, there’s just no denying his ability to craft a song and project
Lemme ask you this. How you feel about The Weeknd?

Damn. I thought he’d atleast enjoy some of his s*** off the strength of his vocals and content alone
Jacquees slander
nah yall gay fr
Where are these well written and crafted Jacquees songs? He has an incredible voice but the s*** that works for him is doing covers and remixes for other artist

The rest are just straight up homophobes validating each other cus the opportunity presented itself, but I think OP genuinely feels like this and isn’t trolling
Only people who really are on that Frank O level off the top are guys like Bon Iver, Sampha, Jai Paul and Toro Y Moi. Maybe the Weekend and PND.
People listen to Chris Brown projects? From start to finish?
People listen to Frank's?

There we go. We all know Franks pen is mighty, but some people dont value that unfort
Frank works outside the boundaries of rnb tbh. Its more like a filter he works through. Any great artist does the same
