yup. and it serves to not sanitize at all the ugly parts hes holding himself accountability. its being shown in all its raw, ugly, uncomfortable truth, whispered over this weird ambient ass beat that forces you to sit with it. It surprised me sure, but I think it was much more effective and raw for it personally.

I will say, where they placed it on the album was brilliant.

They start hate f***ing at the end of We Cry Together and then follow it up a song about replacing verbal communication with sex.

its not that, its moreso the fact these rappers are explicitly fans of it and the way the therapy thing is executed as a career left turn to explore self aware realities about yourself in a mature way to demonstrate growth as a man moreso.

It’s one of the weaker ones on the album, but the beat is so good on it, that it saves from it from being a total dud to me.

Not Kendrick’s best performance on the album for sure but I think summer and ghostface absolutely killed it
