Idk man its just kind of boring...

    You will be dealt with

  • It’s my least favorite Dot album by far, but I respect it, it’s clearly had an influence and Father Time and Mother I Sober are generational classics

I had a cool first listen experience outside a balcony overlooking the beach I don’t really revisit this album like I do his others however

I have a certain mood that I revisit it for

Like when I wanna hear music but nothing that's shallow or when I'm alone in my thoughts tryna process something

    Perfect vibe for that

tbh there’s a difference between just the experience as a kid in compton to talking about all the darkest secrets in your life and family

Yeah but given how introspective he’s been his entire career, it makes sense we’d get an album with this level of vulnerability.

It's funny how the transition from Morale to GNX has mostly the same points brought up comparison wise as the transition from TPAB to DAMN. Like the exact same word for word lmao. And it'll be the same thing between the next 2 albums unless Kendrick breaks the accessable -> less accessable formula he been doing since GKMC

    You think?

I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like TPAB. The production is INCREDIBLE and if you grew up with parents who liked funk, a lot of it was right at home

I dig how raw and personal Morale is conceptually. It’s a step down from his other albums production and song-wise imo and that wasn’t true for TPAB at all

you cant deny anything. generic messaging, meandering production & uninspired lyrics. mad to think it took 5 years

    lol

I'm speaking strictly on the transition between the albums. I see a lot of "GNX is cool but it lacked the substance of morale" and "Kendrick sold out to go mainstream" type comments and that's exactly what people said about DAMN. at the time it dropped.

  • It is.

not really because i knew of his reputation before the album dropped. he just mixes up new age philosophy and eastern philosophy in a beige mush for 40 year old office workers to buy in the millions

it’s helping people reconnect with themselves and they family/children so idk what you on about lol

  • Definitely better than GNX

    Oh well this is ridiculous

Imagine hearing the lyrics on Damn (or GNX) and thinking Kendrick was watering down the message at all

People hear good beats and well made songs and call it ‘going mainstream’ or ‘selling out’

why is it bait you generally don’t overshare with the whole world your own therapy sessions. i wouldn’t share my doctors appointments results with a plumber

comparing sharing vulnerable stories and lessons about your life and experiences through a concept narrative album to sharing positive negative test results with a plumber lol

I’m doing u grace by just dismissing this as bait cuz it’s so so so dumb lol

  • Drry

    Op tried it

there’s pages and pages of people agreeing
