Ofc he's mad, he wants to act like it's inevitable and not the result of his policy, why would he embrace higher gas prices? Even the people who are in favor of sanctions despite the economic cost aren't exactly happy about it.
I don't think most Americans or people are that smart to begin with
But that's the thing, most people are gonna follow the line that media gives them when there's such overwhelming amounts of propaganda, especially when those attitudes are so deeply ingrained in culture
it's not even a thing that's exclusive to AmericaIn order for people to be in support of something they have to be cool with it and if Americans were truly in support of it a President with a below positive approval rating would be using it.
Instead he's blaming others and arguing it isn't his fault which means the poll saying "Americans are in support of sanctions" just is cap.
If that were true politicians wouldn't be using it as a weapon against him and he wouldn't be crying that "Come midterms all I'll have is a veto pen for power" as his ratings stay low.
It's hard for me to buy that sanctions are positively recieved while watching no one take credit for them.
