i don't really think it's as simple as 'if one parent says no that's it' or 'they can do whatever they like when the kids are with them' especially if you're divorced and nominally sharing custody.

Of course both parents should be accommodated as far as possible but the former would obviously give a massive, disruptive veto on doing potentially anything with your child. While the latter is really not Co-parenting and prob disruptive to your child if anything.

Notwithstanding that both these people live insane lives that are basically detached from how 99.9% of people live and parent, the obvious sensible thing to do would be to maintain a regular dialogue and plan on stuff like this. But again if one parent is 100% against something and the other isn't then idk what the eventual compromise looks like.
