This isn't true about the release date. Yeezus's date was announced and kept. It released on a Tuesday, June 18, as expected.

Yup but surprise drop is a concept by itself, now everything is just purely chaotic. I can’t get over how it’s possible for a major artist, one of the biggest names in the industry for 20 years straight, to not release a single because the sample is not cleared and have in mind that the single has been not only teased on official SoMe profiles but also played in its enteriety during live-streamed s***show events.

It wasn't a surprise. It was announced well in advance. It did leak a few days prior to release date, though.
