well its all marketing tactics and Drake's way of marketing is very different but it is absolutely a legitimate form of marketing that has existed long before him. I mean the film Cloverfield marketed effectively how Drake does which was to not give much away and through the subtle approach, you create a cool brand that makes people turn into fans and want to be there day 1.
